The Lucas Fermat vertical turning machine is a continuously controlled vertical turning lathe with vertical ram travel in the Z axis and horizontal ram travel along the X axis for highly efficient powerful precise machining of the large or heavy workpieces fixed to a clamping plate. The main framework built of composite materials (steel welded frame filled with special designed concrete) offers high rigidity vibration reduction and shorter production time.
An additional working S-axis is available and with it a drive and servomotor gear box and shaft connected to a rotary head inside the ram. This gives the VT the ability to drill mill and cut threads.
